SENTRY needed a way to make its booth experiences more interactive, informative, and memorable — without increasing staff overhead or relying on printed materials that often went ignored.
"It’s interesting – no matter what brochure or sell-sheet we make, you never capture all the salient features of the product. I think all of our products portray poorly over package – if someone doesn’t explain it – people don’t get it."

SENTRY is a U.S.-based tactical gear manufacturer known for its precision-engineered vests, holsters, and modular equipment used by defense professionals and law enforcement. Despite its reputation for quality, SENTRY faced a recurring challenge at trade shows: their products looked similar to competitors’ gear on display, making it difficult for visitors to immediately grasp the innovation and engineering behind each piece.
The company needed a way to make its booth experiences more interactive, informative, and memorable — without increasing staff overhead or relying on printed materials that often went ignored.
SENTRY’s marketing team identified three key pain points:
SENTRY wanted a digital bridge between touch and understanding — a way for every physical product to “speak for itself.”
SENTRY partnered with Swapnice to embed Swap Badges — NFC-powered smart tags — directly into key product lines and prototype samples showcased at tactical expos.
Each product featured a concealed NFC tag within its fabric label or armor plate insert. When visitors tapped their phones to a tagged vest, holster, or rifle bag, they were instantly brought to an interactive product demo page powered by the Swapnice platform.
Visitors spent an average of 3× longer interacting with SENTRY displays than the prior year’s show. Attendees were seen lining up to “tap” products, creating viral booth traffic and curiosity.
“It’s interesting – no matter what brochure or sell-sheet we make, you never capture all the salient features of the product. I think all of our products portray poorly over package – if someone doesn’t explain it – people don’t get it.”

SENTRY’s success demonstrates how Swapnice’s digital-physical integration can redefine trade show engagement for hardware and equipment brands.
By turning every product into a storytelling portal, SENTRY not only elevated its brand presence but also captured measurable, actionable data that extended the impact of every event far beyond the convention floor.
